I have stood through the greatest trials and had people whom I thought would stand with me, leave my side.

By the same token, my Lord has sent me encouragers from such un-expected sources during these same times - people who I had never really 'seen' before have just stood with me even when others as close as family had left.

People often say that 'blood is thicker than water' but I have seen even blood turn against blood.

It is only the "blood of Christ" that will break through. The only real bond you can trust in is your 'blood' relationship with Jesus. It is then through Him that you can endure the betrayal of false friends and be led to those whom He wants you to be with, to stand beside and go on with in the life He has set before you.
